Alef Aeronautics Unveils World’s First Flying Car with Successful Public Test
In a groundbreaking achievement, US-based Alef Aeronautics has successfully demonstrated its flying car prototype, dubbed Model Zero, in a real-world test on a public road in California. The company released a video showcasing the vehicle’s ability to fly over a parked car, marking a significant milestone in the development of flying car technology.
According to Alef Aeronautics’ CEO, Jim Dukhovny, “This drive and flight test represents a crucial proof of technology in a real-world city environment. We hope it will be a moment similar to the Wright Brothers’ Kitty Hawk video, proving to humanity that new transportation is possible.”
The company’s flying car boasts impressive features, including a 100% electric design, a driving range of 320 kilometers, and a flight range of approximately 160 kilometers. With over 3,300 pre-orders already secured for its Model A vehicle, Alef Aeronautics is poised to revolutionize the transportation industry.
Alef Aeronautics has partnered with PUCARA Aero and MYC, a joint venture that has produced aviation-grade parts for industry giants Airbus and Boeing, to manufacture its Model A flying car. Prices for the Model A start at around $300,000, while a more affordable option, the Model Z, is expected to cost around $35,000.
As stated on the company’s website, “Our flying car is designed to drive on the street, take off vertically when needed, and fly overhead above traffic, providing a solution to modern congestion. It fits into a regular driving lane, conforms to all traffic regulatory conditions, and can be parked in a regular parking space or garage.”
